  • Supervise up to 20 individuals working on large looms
  • Become familiar with and manage all machines in the department

Requirements:

Job Summary

  • Lead design projects of tooling, new products and equipment from design concept/prototype to production release with a hands-on approach.
  • Ensure projects are completed on-budget and in a timely manner.
  • Design and develop cutting edge products/tooling to expand product offering.
  • Work with automation, manufacturing and systems engineers to design equipment and processes for customized products using design for manufacturing principles.
  • Collaborate with cross functional teams to make design improvements for increased production, quality and safety.
  • Serve as Subject Matter Expert in the area of mechanical design, design for manufacturing (DFM) and 3D modeling.
  • Provide technical support to production and sales as needed.
  • Use project management software to track progress.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering.
  • 5+ years’ experience in a manufacturing environment
  • 2+ years’ experience in autonomous decision-making and driving projects.
  • Expert use of recent (2019+) AutoDesk Inventor, AutoCAD.
  • Experience upgrading and designing automated machines and/or new products preferred.
  • Familiarity with use of Microsoft Dynamics Nav (or other ERP systems).
  • Exceptional hands-on and analytical abilities, organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills (i.e. oral and written).
  • Strong documentation and project management skills.
  • Ability to work well both independently and within a team as well as be coachable.
  • Effective time management skills.

The Manufacturing Engineer role is focused on supporting the engineering, production and
quality departments. The role requires an individual to pick up and resolve a variety of
production engineering issues, which will require a proactive and hands on approach to problem
solving and an ability to work with minimal supervision.

 

Overview

 

• Day to day production engineering including documenting machine settings and
parameters
• Prepare and issue BOM’s to operations/production
• Documentation and curation of tooling
• Process improvement
• Generate and manage manufacturing documentation including work instructions
• Ensure appropriate training of all production employees to meet competencies
necessary to execute their roles effectively and efficiently.
• Assist in tooling development
• Investigation of issues and proposing solutions to the design engineers and

• Design production tooling for assembly aids/ fixtures
• Producing component and assembly drawings in 3D CAD
• Assist in the selection and sourcing of production equipment, tooling and

Title CNC Machinist

Operates and sets up CNC machines and machining centers, as well as manual machines such as lathes, drill press, etc. to machine metal and nonmetal parts.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

 

  • Must be able to read and understand engineering drawings/ sketches to determine the proper settings and sequence of operations to produce parts to correct dimensions within tolerances.

  • Must enjoy traveling. Travel Required (80%, a “Road Warrior Mentality”) and Customer Face Time are crucial aspects of this position;

  • Provide superior customer support on all quotes, orders and quote follow-up. This includes quick problem resolution for any customer in the Territory;
