PFX Self-Cleaning Screens Improved Efficiency and Output

01. The Challenge

The customer faced challenges with blinding and pegging in their 5x16 vibrating machine, which used 1/8" screens to produce sand for hydraulic concrete. These issues limited production capacity to 12 m³/hour and resulted in frequent maintenance interruptions and inefficiencies.

02. The Solution

Buffalo recommended PFX, a self-cleaning mesh solution designed to address blinding and pegging issues while enhancing operational efficiency. PFX provides superior durability and performance, ensuring reduced maintenance and longer service life. The customer was impressed with the easy installation process and the immediate operational benefits, including reduced downtime and improved equipment performance.

03. The Result

  • A Tech Squad™ technical visit was conducted to assess the problem and evaluate the screens. To showcase the difference, two PFX screens and two traditional woven meshes were installed for comparison. Within an hour of production, the woven meshes showed signs of blinding due to the high material humidity, while the PFX screens remained completely clean. This improvement boosted production capacity from 12 m³/hour to 13 m³/hour.
  • The PFX screens, installed on September 28, 2023, are still operating, delivering consistent results, and demonstrating their effectiveness in addressing customer challenges. This solution resolved the immediate issue and set the stage for improved long-term efficiency and productivity.
